Build Upon Truth!
Whitewash (Merriam Webster)-to make (something) whiter by painting it with whitewash
: to prevent people from learning the truth about (something bad, such as a dishonest, immoral, or illegal act or situation)
: to defeat (an opponent) easily by winning every game, point, etc
Ezekiel 13:10 (CEV)
10 Those prophets refuse to be honest. They tell my people there will be peace, even though there’s no peace to be found. They are like workers who think they can fix a shaky wall by covering it with paint.
In Construction, there was a saying in carpentry: ‘Putty and paint, are what a carpenter ain’t’
The implication is that no amount of fine finish is a substitute for good workmanship.
In life, there is no substitute for building our life upon the truth of the Word of God.
“Therefore, whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon a rock.
25 And the rain descended and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house; and it fell not, for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of Mine and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand;
27 and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
The Storms of life come to us all, yet those who have carefully built out lives upon Jesus and His Words, will stand through the storms, strong!
Whatever you do, do it well, so that it will last.
Let’s Pray:
Father, I bring your word before you, and like Paul prayed: ‘Phil 1: 9 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, 10 so that you may [g]approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless [h]until the day of Christ; 11 having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.’
