Had an interesting conversation with a former client and friend today, about the huge financial struggles we currently face, and have faced all year. He, like many others, have had great difficulty trying to understand how, I, having established expertise and business network here in Tulsa, could literally leave the industry behind, and ‘go follow Jesus’. The question is always: “Have I actually, …authentically heard the voice of the Holy Spirit, to do what I am doing, now?” and if so, why would God allow such financial hardship upon my family and I, if we had obeyed Him? Well, let’s just say, that the God is serve, is the same God that sent a nine month pregnant woman and her supposedly illegitimate husband, on a donkey, on a long journey, in difficult weather, to give birth to God the Son, in a stable, in what we now call Christmas time. He loves to slice through our self will, expectations, pride, and reasoning’s, for one reason: He really loves people, all people, and those of us that serve Him, need to be able to truly love and relate to, the down and outters, just as much as the up and outters. Yes, we have screaming financial needs, yet money in no longer my Lord, Jesus, fully is, and I will not need to wait for heaven to hear Him say: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” as I have learned daily to hear His voice, simply to survive, and have counted the cost, and He is worth it all! So if you are a friend, and I have endeavored this year to share His Word and His love with you, daily as we have been able, simply because He said to do it….Merry Christmas friend! You are greatly loved, and prayed for, fervently, daily! Jesus is Lord!
As I read these passages this week, they jumped off the pages of my Bible at me.
Luke 6:20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
It seems in the kingdom of God, that down is up, and up is down!
Last year, 2012, I fully transitioned from full-time construction to full time missions again.
As I read these verses today, in our yearly Bible reading, they jumped off the page at me, like the Lord was speaking to me, personally.
Luke 6:20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
Truly, this year, we have been brutally financially poor. No vehicle, often with one or more utility cut at the house, learning what it is to live in extreme poverty, where we literally had nothing, not one red cent in our pockets.
Yet, the kingdom of God has come!
Been working with international leaders, and have now folks interested in starting 51 Bible schools, in eight different countries. There have been miracles, as we have walked with Jesus, one day at a time, and seen Him do what only He can do….
Reminds me of a quote I read from Heidi Baker. When she had finished her doctorate, intending to raise up seminaries to train leaders in Africa, the Lord sent her to Monzambique with the instruction: ‘Go, sit among the poor, and learn of my kingdom.’
Like her, all of my great intellect, network, education, influence, and ability, has met the cross of Jesus, as I have walked among the poor of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Learning that even with all the great international ministries here, this is a brutal place to live, without money. Having to trust Jesus for every meal…

Division, simply means ‘two visions’.
After fasting and prayer this year, I believe I heard, and have continued to hear Jesus voice, on the things, the specific mandate He has given to me to perform, people called alongside, to support the vision He has given me, have seen, understood, and come alongside me to help me get it done. Yet, most have not seen, understood, nor accepted what I am doing, and have separated me from their company, in most cases, not maliciously, but simply because we are now going different directions in life. They are busy doing what they believe they need to be doing tand I am busy doing what I need to be doing, and I have been separated from their companies. In the case of the business world, it is clearly not personal.
Previously, I was Chris the contractor, the man with the plan, and the network of contractors and suppliers, extremely skilled in getting things done, quickly.
Now, I am Chris the missionary, intent on starting Bible schools, learning about North American Indians, and bringing revival to the United States of America, and in leadership development.
At best, it is a huge mental leap for people to understand or process what I have done.
Why, after all these years of building a successful company contracting, would I abandon it all, to follow Jesus?
Guess, it all comes down to whether or not I have heard His voice, clearly, to be doing what I am currently doing.
If I have, I take my place on the old gospel trail, among the myriad of great ministers in the earth, and write eternal testimony on the fabric of time.
If not, I am just another ‘faith-flake’ you know, one of the granola Christians many claim the Tulsa is full of: full of fruits, flakes and nuts!
To those of you who know me, and who know Jesus, please pray for me, and add me to your daily prayer lists, and ‘whatever He says to do for me, do it!’
If somehow, you do not know Him yet, please sell out to Him, and not only pay lip service to some simple Christmas prayer, but seek Him, with all of your heart, for the plan, purpose, and destiny you have been created to live. Give Him Your all, and begin to make the Bible more than a nice book, but final authority on any decision you might make.
When you do, there is ‘life and life more abundantly’ awaiting, only to be understood, when walked out in faith and obedience to the Holy Spirit’s specific directions for you!

You are deeply loved, by God and by me, and I have spent countless hours this year both praying for you, and in pouring my life into relevant Bible teachings, pretty much daily, as He has led me.

1.Support the vision of Victory Christian Center
2. Pioneer Bible Schools Internationally (working with leaders in 8 countries presently)
3. Serve in First Nations Ministry to the North American Indians.
