Fight the Good Fight: A Call to Spiritual Combat Readiness

Fight the Good Fight: A Call to Spiritual Combat Readiness

Title: Fight the Good Fight: A Call to Spiritual Combat Readiness

  1. Embracing the Call to Combat – 1 Timothy 6:12

Let’s get fired up, folks! The Bible doesn’t mince words when it tells us in 1 Timothy 6:12 to “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” This isn’t just a suggestion; it’s a divine mandate. Like Major Pete at those Senate hearings, showing commitment to combat readiness, we too must be ready for spiritual warfare. This battle for faith isn’t for the faint of heart but for those passionate about seizing eternal life, standing firm in our testimony before others. It’s time to gear up, to train in the Word, and to live out our faith with vigor and determination.

We are living in the last days of recorded time, Jesus declared:

Matt 24:4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places

Just as military soldiers fight when nation rises against nation in this natural realm, we who have embraced the call and authority of JESUS, as wickedness arises influenced by sin and the mind-blinding work of the kingdom of darkness, we must do what this verse states; Romans 13:12

The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

  1. The Kingdom Suffers Violence – Matthew 11:12

Listen up, because this is where it gets real. Jesus Himself says in Matthew 11:12, “From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.” The Kingdom of God isn’t some passive, ethereal realm; it’s a territory contested by forces of darkness. My definition of the kingdom of God, is the active and supreme rule of Jesus operating both in Heaven and throughout the earth. If we’re to be Kingdom warriors, we must understand that our faith will be challenged, our beliefs tested, and our resolve pushed to its limits. But here’s the thing – we are called to be violent in our pursuit of righteousness, not with physical force, but with a relentless, fervent spirit that refuses to back down. This is our battle cry: to advance the Kingdom with everything we’ve got, knowing that the victory is ours in Christ.

2 Cor 2:14 BRG

Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savor of his knowledge by us in every place.

  1. Occupy Until He Comes – Luke 19:13

Jesus didn’t leave us with a passive command; He told us to “occupy till I come” (Luke 19:13). This isn’t about sitting back and waiting for His return; it’s about actively engaging with the resources, talents, and opportunities He’s given us. We are to be stewards of His Kingdom, not bystanders. Every moment we have is a chance to expand His reign on earth, to use what we’ve been given to bring light into darkness, hope where there’s despair, and love in the face of hate. Let’s live each day with the urgency of knowing our time is now – to build, to minister, to fight, and to hold fast until He returns.

Conclusion

The fight of faith isn’t just a metaphor; it’s a reality we live every day. Let’s embrace it with the zeal of soldiers, the readiness of athletes, and the dedication of servants. Armed with the Word, fueled by prayer, and guided by the Holy Spirit, we can stand firm in this spiritual battle. Remember, the victory is already won; our task is to live out that victory with passion and purpose until our King returns. So, let’s fight the good fight, lay hold of eternal life, and occupy until He comes. Amen!

Lets Pray:

Father God Almighty, I fully submit my life to You, and the rule and reign of Jesus. Now please show me exactly the areas I must use the sword of Your Word to slice darkness and devils away, that Your Kingdom advance, and Your name be exalted and glorified, I ask, knowing I am heard and answered, for I ask in Your name Lord JESUS! Amen!
