The Parable of the Vineyard

In Matthew 21:37, Jesus shares a parable where He speaks of Himself: “But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.” This passage is a prophetic narrative where Jesus foretells His crucifixion, highlighting the rejection by His own people and the subsequent transformation of the religious landscape.

The Sacrifice of God the Son

Jesus Christ, known as God the Son, became the ultimate sacrifice on the cross, fulfilling the need for atonement for all humanity across all generations. Only God could bear this burden, and Jesus, as the second Person of the Trinity, was uniquely qualified. This act of sacrifice is pivotal, demonstrating the heart of the Father: “They will reverence my son!” Over centuries, this reverence has grown, not because of human opinion but because of the divine affirmation of Christ’s work.
He would become the sacrifice on the altar of the cross, the final required sacrifice needed for all mankind, in every generation. Only God was qualified to do that, and Jesus is God, the 2nd person of the Trinity.

The Many Names of Jesus

The Bible attributes 256 names to Jesus, a reflection of His multifaceted nature that transcends any single label or understanding. As Billy Sunday once noted in his sermon “Wonderful,” this multitude of names signifies Jesus’ infinite and inexpressible essence.

The Blood of Jesus
listen blood

The acceptance of Jesus’ shed blood by God Almighty is central to Christian theology – it is through this blood that we are forgiven, redeemed, and granted access to the Holy Presence. This act underscores the divine-human connection, where Mary, though Jesus’ earthly mother, conceived Him as a virgin, fulfilling the prophecy of Immanuel, “God with us.”

The Mystery of Jesus’ Divine and Human Nature

The dual nature of Jesus as both the Son of God and God the Son is a profound theological concept. Here’s how one theologian explains it:

  • Jesus is the Son in terms of His human nature; He is God in terms of His divine nature. This duality does not divide His person but shows His unity in two natures.

Scriptural Affirmations of Divinity

  • Titus 2:13 speaks of the “appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,” affirming His deity.
  • 1 John 5:20 declares Jesus as the true God and eternal life.
  • John 20:28 where Thomas calls Jesus, “My Lord and my God!”
  • John 1:1,14 identifies Jesus as the Word, who was God and became flesh.
  • Mark 2:5-10 where Jesus forgives sins, a prerogative of God alone, leading to accusations of blasphemy.

The Call to Accept Jesus

The invitation is clear: accept Jesus not only as a historical figure or moral teacher but as Lord and King. There is no other path to heaven, no other mediator or act that can justify one before God except through Jesus.

A Prayer of Acceptance

If you choose to embrace this truth, pray with me::

“Jesus, I receive you as God, the Son! I accept your love, your rule, your kingdom, and your power into my life. Now, Amen!”

This act of faith will transform one’s life, aligning it with the divine purpose and love Jesus offers.

God the Son1

I like the sense of this verse, revealing our heavenly Father’s heart: “They will reverence my son!

God the son

Centuries have come and gone by, and people now indeed reverence Jesus, for it has never been as important what any person might think about what Jesus did on the cross, as what God Almighty thinks about it!

The Bible attributes 256 names to Jesus, a reflection of His multifaceted nature that transcends any single label or understanding. As Billy Sunday once noted in his sermon “Wonderful,” this multitude of names signifies Jesus’ infinite and inexpressible essence.

God Almighty, accepted Jesus shed blood as an acceptable offering for our sins!

We are forgiven, redeemed, adopted, provided access to His Holy presence, only through that blood!

Mary, was Jesus earthly mother, but she was a virgin when she conceived Jesus, for the mystery of the ages is summed up in who Jesus Father was: the holy seed that impregnated Mary, the Word that became flesh and dwelt amongst us. Jesus, God the Son.

How can He be both the Son of God, and God the Son? I Liked the way this theologian put it: https://carm.org/how-can-jesus-be-both-god-and-son-of-god

He is no mere prophet, nor great moral teacher, He is the great I AM, the one who was, and is, and is to come, God the Son.

Here are a couple verses to build your faith in this truth:

Titus 2:13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus

1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ This is the true God and eternal life

John 20:28 Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”

John 1:1,14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth

Mark 2:5-10 And Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” But some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, “Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming; who can forgive sins but God alone?”

So, will you accept what He did for you today, and receive Him as Lord, and King of your life?

There is no other way to heaven, no other mediator that God accepts on your behalf, no religious work that can justify you before a holy God, only Jesus…
One Way
The eternal question that only you can answer is: Will you have this man as your King and Lord?

If so, pray this, and see His power:
‘Jesus, I receive you as God, the Son! I accept your love, your rule, your kingdom, and your power into my life. Now, Amen!”
