Levels of intimacy of relationship for leaders

Been thinking about levels of intimacy in relationship, especially in leadership. Looking at Jesus for our example, I see He had different levels of intimacy with those He was called to lead.

 

This is kind of a basic thought on some things, and I will tell you why: Jesus was the only Son of God in the earth when He lived here. Today, Jesus is Lord of Lords, and King of Kings, and He has many great leaders in the earth today. How they are to relate with honor in this generation is something I will address at the end of this line of thinking.

 

1. First and greatest intimacy Jesus shared was, and is always with His (and our) Heavenly Father. Mt 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Joh 10:30 I and my Father are one.

Joh 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

Joh 5:20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.

 

That is a cool verse. Jesus experienced such a wonderful intimacy with Father God, that Father God would show Him what He wanted to do, and Jesus went and did the mighty miracles that we read about in the Word of God.

 

Joh 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

 

Isa 50:4 The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.

 

Here is Jesus and our morning regiment and devotion. Seeking heaven for direction and His Word for the day and the season He has called us to, then walking out, what He has shown us.

 

Jesus greatest relationship is with His heavenly father. He is our example. He died and rose again to reconcile us to our heavenly Father. Our greatest relationship must also be with our heavenly Father, enjoying His presence and seeking Him daily for His direction for our lives.

 

2. John – His right hand man. Jesus trusted John with even the care of His mother after he died on the cross. He told him about Judas betrayal, while others did not understand it. Could it be that Jesus used John to fully restore Peter, and keep him on track?

 

3. Peter James and John –Matt 17:1 ¶ And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,

2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.

 

Mt 26:37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

 

Mark 5:37 And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.

38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.

39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.

40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.

41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.

 

Mr 13:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,

 

Lu 9:28 And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.

 

Lu 22:8 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.

5. The 120, that came from the multitudes that followed Him

6. The 3000, 5000 and now the multitudes.

7. The world that He loves.

Need to think about how leaders are to relate, all serving Him together.
