My Plea for Your part in the Great Commission

The Great Commission: A Call to Love and Action

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

I come to you today with a message from the very heart of our Savior. Jesus, in His infinite love and wisdom, has given us what we affectionately call The Great Commission. It’s not just a suggestion, my friends; it’s a commandment wrapped in love, urging us to step out in faith.

Here’s what He tells us in Matthew 28:19-20, “Therefore GO and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Go – Yes, go into your neighborhood, your workplace, your school, your gym. Go where you are, but with the intention to spread the Good News. This command is for each of you, not just for the apostles of old or for those in full-time ministry. It’s for you, for me, for all of us who call Jesus our Lord.

Make Disciples – This isn’t about gaining followers on social media or increasing church attendance numbers. It’s about transforming lives through love, teaching, and the power of the Holy Spirit. We are to nurture, guide, and mentor others into a life with Christ. It’s about showing how to live according to His teachings, not just in word, but in deed.

Baptize – Baptism is not just a ritual; it’s a profound act of love and obedience, marking the beginning of a journey in faith, where one is enveloped by the grace of the Father, the love of the Son, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.

Teach – We are called to teach others to observe all that Jesus has commanded us. This teaching is an act of love, ensuring that the truths of the Gospel are not just heard but lived out in every aspect of life. It’s about instilling a heart for God’s commands, not just in our minds but in our daily actions.

And here’s the best part – Jesus promises, “I am with you always.” You are never alone in this mission. He is with you, empowering you, guiding you, loving you through every step, every challenge, and every victory.

Dear friends, let us embrace this commission with joy and zeal. Let’s make disciples out of love for God and love for our neighbor. Let’s show the world that there is a God who loves them, who died for them, and who calls them into a life of purpose and peace.

May we rise to this calling with hearts full of love, ready to go, to teach, to baptize, and to disciple. Let’s do this not out of duty but out of love for our Savior who gave everything for us.

With all my love and in His service,

Chris Walsh, AOM Ministries
