Well, it is good to be home!
I have been to the Navajo nation seven times since April, performing a variety of ministry projects, and I feel that though I pray my relationships there remain not only for life, but throughout eternity, my specific assignment is complete for this season. As a family, that makes 8 trips, because Karen just returned from the women’s warrior conference in Shiprock, AZ where she went to encourage reverend Anita Hartley.
It is good to be back into the daily disciplines of prayer, Bible reading, sleep, regular food, exercise, producing the daily blog posts, and reading, growing, studying, and teaching wherever the Lord opens doors. Just co-authored my second book, ‘Worship – Not Just a Song’ with pastor Siv Adoks Abel in Nigeria. It is up on Amazon and Kindle: http://www.amazon.com/Worship-Just-Song-Christopher-Walsh/dp/1502875519/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1415214584&sr=1-1&keywords=worship+not+just+a+song#reader_1502875519
I am prayerfully considering doing a book launch in Nigeria with pastor Siv, perhaps in the New Year, with a worship festival where people can do what the book promotes: meet heart to heart and face to face with God, in worship.
Grand Illusion – the revelation God gave me in 2012, should be ready in the next couple of months. I see now, why God did not allow me to publish it yet. I have much to learn about the host peoples of America, and although I love them deeply, true love seeks to understand…So, it is time to dig deeper into the Word and again discipline myself to learn, grow, develop, and of course develop and disciple others…
Evangelism/Discipleship using Social Media – Seems without trying too hard, the combined audience on the various Social Media is over 10,000 people. Truly, the Word of God is alive, active, and God is using the internet to reach into places with His Word, in places I have never been. The question I keep asking myself, and Jesus is this: What is the best use of my time? What bears the most fruit in light of eternity?
To be truthful, I would have to say it is the in-depth Bible studies I produce and post on my WordPress site, that seem to meet the most people in their point of need. It is not our works that please God, rather our faith, and it seems the highest and best use of my time is in deep personal prayer time with Jesus to accurately hear Him, then quietly writing what He shows me, and breaking it down and sharing it with others.
As I do, I have learned several verses to be true:
Psalm 119:130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. Acts 12:24 But the word of God grew and multiplied.
Hebrews 4:12Amplified Bible (AMP) 12 For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the [a]breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.
Seems we all have a part to play, each of us responsible to grow, serve, pray, and obey. As we do, seems the whole body grows, and the kingdom of God increases.
Eph 4: 16 For because of Him the whole body (the church, in all its various parts), closely joined and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied, when each part [with power adapted to its need] is working properly [in all its functions], grows to full maturity, building itself up in love.
This is a radically different thought than I previously held. I see that God, through revelation, speaks to people by His Word. As He does, we grow, move, and obey. As we do, together the kingdom of God increases!
Kinda kills the big I, little you theology. I do my part, you do yours. I pray for you, and endeavor to hear God for revelation that will bless you, encourage and equip you, and cause you to flow in Him, bearing eternal fruit for the kingdom.
Daily, I spend the required hours I need to in prayer, for you, and the many other prayer assignments God has given me… Yet, we need each other. Without you, I would starve to death.
Seems God loves to use people to provide. To keep my heart right, I need to stay in faith, in Him, putting pressure on prayer and promises. Your job with respect to me, is whatever He says, do it.
Seems His hand is so strong upon me, that I have time to do nothing else but: Acts 6:4 But we will continue to devote ourselves steadfastly to prayer and the ministry of the Word. Despite all the wonderful business opportunities offered me, he has dealt with me to preach the gospel, no compromise, no plan B, no back up plan. Jesus plus nothing. That way, when I sit down with anyone, anywhere, anytime, I have only one motive: loving them, and seeing them walk with Jesus. (not trying to sell them a great multi-level business, or a carpentry contract)
Then, I preach the word, daily: Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good tidings, who publishes peace, who brings good tidings of good, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, Your God reigns!
As I do this, I fully expect this living word that I preach to provide for me and my family!
1 Corinthians 9:11 If we have sown [the seed of] spiritual good among you, [is it too] much if we reap from your material benefits?
1 Corinthians 9:14 [On the same principle] the Lord directed that those who publish the good news (the Gospel) should live (get their maintenance) by the Gospel.
Paul goes on to say, that he did not use his position as a minister of the gospel to take up offerings, rather he worked, making tents, to support himself. You might notice here, that Paul was not married, nor did he have children. Family responsibilities take time, and just as you bust a move on your job to provide for your family, I work every bit as hard, doing this, faithful to the Lord in prayer and the ministry of His Word.
On December 31st, we will have completed our second year as full-time missionaries as a family. Like anything else, it has not been without challenge, but it has been worth it!
As you give this month, hear Holy Spirit what to give, and honestly expect God to reward you for your giving.
Matt 10: 41 He who receives and welcomes and accepts a prophet because he is a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward, and he who receives and welcomes and accepts a righteous man because he is a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. 42 And whoever gives to one of these little ones [in rank or influence] even a cup of cold water because he is My disciple, surely I declare to you, he shall not lose his reward.
I have ‘see through’ faith for you, in this: Gal 3: 9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
I believe I have a responsibility before God to be like Jesus, in every offering I receive. I receive it with thanksgiving, just like Jesus did the little boys lunch.
Then, because I walk and live by faith according to the blessing of Abraham, I believe that God will take your seed sown, and multiply it, according to what the blessing of Abraham promises:
Genesis 22:17 In blessing I will bless you and in multiplying I will multiply your descendants like the stars of the heavens and like the sand on the seashore. And your Seed (Heir) will possess the gate of His enemies
It has been a joy to me, to see the hand of the living God act in the lives of those of you who have supported us this year!
Many have seen tremendous blessing come into your households, and for this we give thanks, and give Jesus all the glory!
Note: We finally signed up for a Bluebird card. If you are able figure out how to donate to this account, it makes our life much easier than with PayPal, in that funds become instantly available, instead of having to wait 3-5 business days. Critical when we have been traveling. Spent a couple nights at the side of the highway this summer, waiting for Paypal to clear funds…
I have been posting a series: https://chrisaomministries.wordpress.com/2014/11/05/seven-that-ways-god-speaks-to-you-part-4/ This is today’s teaching, may Jesus meet with you in it!
