The Legend of Snaggle Tooth Scar.
As told by Silverfin, the dolphin.
Introduction:
In the warm green waters through the Caribbean sea, there has been an epic battle raging between a dolphin and a shark. Not just any dolphin mind you, a very special and brave dolphin named Silverfin.
Silverfin is a strikingly handsome Atlantic Spotted Dolphin, known through that region as a friend to all reef fish, defender of the reef, enemy of all predators there.
His particular nemesis is a huge hammerhead shark, known throughout the depths, as Snaggle tooth scar.
This monstrosity of a fish hunted deep in the ocean depths preying upon any unsuspecting fish or dolphin that found it’s unlucky self in his line of sight that day.
Silverfin knew him well, and remained in a state of vigilant awareness of his surroundings, ever ready to attack and protect his own.
He had first faced this horrible monster creature as a innocent dolphin calf, but that story is not known by many….
This is the story, of Snaggle Tooth Scar….
One upon a time, Dorothy the striped parrot fish, called all the other reef fish into her coral grotto, to gather around, as she took them all to school.
“Listen up you fish and fishettes, I’m going to tell you a story, about SilverFin’s nemesis, and where he came from, and how he got his name. I’m going to tell you about Snaggle Tooth Scar.
Suddenly, all the little fishes gasped and huddled close to one another, carefully looking over their shoulders, as that terrible name was mentioned. All the flitting around playfully ended instantly, and everyone looked at Dorothy, for she was a wise elder on the reef, and their parents taught them to respect their elders.
This is how the story goes:
One day on the reef, came Mr. Soldier fish, with a report of several fish missing from his school.
Mr. Soldier Fish
It seems they had been swimming at the edge of the reef, where the greenish waters, met the deep ocean blue. Report, someone had heard a sound, of a ‘swish’ and suddenly, there had been no more fish.
Sergeant Major immediately interrupted the conversation at soldier fish school, pulling rank on the soldier bringing the report.
A Sargent major fish
He told them he had heard a legend from one of the older momma fish deep inside the reef.
So, he commanded all the soldier fish to follow him to mamma fishes cave.
Momma fish began the story:
Once upon a time, in the beautiful greenish waters of the inner reef, in the place where Mamma fish, taught their children to school, came the legend of a great hanger head shark, named Snaggle tooth Scar.
Here is how the story goes:
Out in the deep blue ocean, where sharks and schools of fish are commonly seen, lived a giant hanger head shark. Now, actually he was a hammer head shark, but baby fishes, couldn’t quite say it correctly, so they called him, ‘hanger head’ because his giant head was shaped like a coat hanger!.
This particular hanger head, had grown so big, he could barely see.
As you can see, his head had grown too wide, his eyes too far apart, so that he saw cross-eyed, and everything appeared double to him.
So he did what every fish on the reef did, he went to see Mr. Look down, the eye doctor, to learn if he could be fitted for some glasses.
Mr. Look Down Fish
By this time, he was very hungry, having been unable to catch any fish for some time, and when he showed up at Mr. Look-down’s coral grotto that served as his office, Mr. Lookdown figured out pretty quickly what was on his mind, and it had nothing to do with glasses. Why, that hanger head wanted to eat him!
So, he carefully backed up towards the coral head he called home, asking Mr. Hanger head what he needed.
Mr. Hanger head, told him that he had gone cross-eyed, and needed himself some spectacles to correct the problem.
As soon as Mr. Look-down got close enough to a hole in the coral, quick as a whip, he darted into the coral, as Mr. Hanger head did, what hanger heads do, and swish, zoomed in to eat him.
Yet, he could not stop in time, and crashed headfirst into the sharp coral, breaking several teeth, and cutting open his nose.
Enraged, he swam off bleeding, and now making a horrible noise as he swam, for those broken teeth, now protruded from his mouth, as ‘snaggle teeth’, and each time he moved his huge tail, his mouth would cause a sound to be heard with each stroke, ‘swish, swish, swish’.
In time, the cut on his nose healed into a huge scar.
When it did, he learned a horrible truth.
Why, he could close one eye, and line up the other eye, with the scar on his nose, and with one fierce stroke of his massive tail, swish, and there would be no fish.
So, somewhere out in the deep ocean blue, is the sound that makes, momma fishes tuck their baby fishes, deep inside their homes on the reef, swish, swish, swish.
Now children, this is the Legend of Snaggle-Tooth Scar SilverFin told the children at school that day:
“What can we learn from this story?” Dorothy asked them.
Suddenly, there was a shadow over the little fishes heads, and suddenly, they were not alone. They looked up, and who did they see? Why, Silverfin himself!
“It’s Silverfin” one little fish exclaimed!
Sure enough, bigger than life, SilverFin had silently glided in, ever protecting the reef.
“Hi everyone” He chuckled, with obvious love in His voice. “How are you children doing today?”
Everyone tried to talk at once, but Dorothy shushed them by saying: “Hello SilverFin, I was just asking the children what they learned from our story today”.
SilverFin smiled and said: ‘Pay attention to Dorothy, students, she is a great teacher, now what did you all learn today?”
One little fish raised his fin and said:
“That we need to stay in school?”
Yes, it is important we stay in school little one, any other answers, SilverFin asked?
“We need to listen to and obey our parents”
“That’s right” said Silverfin, anybody else?
“Fences and doors, keep the good guys in and the bad guys out?, Like our coral reef, prevents big hungry hanger-heads from coming into our homes?”
Yes, child, boundaries are good things that protect us from danger and harm.
Anyone else?
A bold little fish spoke up: “I betcha you could whip that old hanger head SilverFin! I heard about dolphins killing sharks is that true?”
SilverFin chuckled, and said “Yes, we do kill sharks that try and threaten us or those we are called to protect, but we don’t go looking for a fight, we only hurt them when they try to attack us”
The little bold fish said, so we learned that there are warriors out there that will protect us, and fight for us against the bad guys if they are around.
Good job class! SilverFin said, so let’s remember these rules:
1. We must honor and obey our parents!
Ephesians 6
2. We need to grow, learn, and stay in school and healthy community.
3. There are warriors that are assigned to protect us as we do right – Angels, soldiers, and policemen
Romans 13 New International Version (NIV)
Submission to Governing Authorities
13 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.

Give in faith!
1 Corinthians 9:11 If we have sown [the seed of] spiritual good among you, [is it too] much if we reap from your material benefits?
1 Corinthians 9:14 [On the same principle] the Lord directed that those who publish the good news (the Gospel) should live (get their maintenance) by the Gospel.
Paul goes on to say, that he did not use his position as a minister of the gospel to take up offerings, rather he worked, making tents, to support himself. You might notice here, that Paul was not married, nor did he have children. Family responsibilities take time, and just as you bust a move on your job to provide for your family, I work every bit as hard, doing this, faithful to the Lord in prayer and the ministry of His Word, to you.
I will never charge for this: it my responsibility to God, my calling. Freely I have been given, now, I freely give…
As you give, hear Holy Spirit what to give, and honestly expect God to reward you for your giving.
Matt 10: 41 He who receives and welcomes and accepts a prophet because he is a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward, and he who receives and welcomes and accepts a righteous man because he is a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. 42 And whoever gives to one of these little ones [in rank or influence] even a cup of cold water because he is My disciple, surely I declare to you, he shall not lose his reward.
I am a five-fold ministry gift and office – this is my life – I pray, I hear, I write, and wonderful things happen. You have your job description, I have mine – this is mine….
I have ‘see through’ faith for you, in this: Gal 3: 9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
I believe I have a responsibility before God to be like Jesus, in every offering I receive. I receive it with thanksgiving, just like Jesus did the little boys lunch.
Then, because I walk and live by faith according to the blessing of Abraham, I believe that God will take your seed sown, and multiply it, according to what the blessing of Abraham promises:
Genesis 22:17 In blessing I will bless you and in multiplying I will multiply your descendants like the stars of the heavens and like the sand on the seashore. And your Seed (Heir) will possess the gate of His enemies
It has been a joy to me, to see the hand of the living God act in the lives of those of you who have supported us this year!
Many have seen tremendous blessing come into your households, and for this we give thanks, and give Jesus all the glory!
