The Silent Scream!

The Silent Scream

silent scream
Mark 11:12 ¶ And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:
13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it

20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

Tonight I want to talk about things that have no audible voice, but in our lives, they scream.

In this passage of Scripture we see Jesus speaking to a fig tree, and you know the rest of the story, it withered up and died.

Yet, I don’t know about you, but I never heard a tree speak before, have you? Yet, Jesus answered it!

We are not into pantheism here, looking for creative things to have spirits, and worshipping the creation, rather than the Creator, but what is being said here?

That tree had a voice!

What was it saying?

To Jesus, it must have been saying: ‘I have leaves, so I should have fruit’

Yet it had not fruit.

Jesus looking for fruit

So Jesus answered it, and said:’You will have no fruit ever again’

He spoke in authority, and that tree was dead, from the moment he spoke the Word to it. It’s very life force went out of it!

Then, He gives us the law of faith in Mark 11:23,24. I will touch on it some, but Kenneth E. Hagin, the founder and my instructor from Rhema Bible Training Center, taught on this verse for 65 years straight, and still did not exhaust the revelation in it, so anything I say here, is only going to be a brief introduction to the topic.

Let’s talk about the silent scream for a minute.

What is screaming in your life right now?

Is it the agony of unpaid bills heaped in piles upon your table?

Is it the physical pain of a sickness or disease, that has no voice, yet screams in agony?

Is it the pain of a marriage gone awry? You are trying to serve Jesus, but your spouse is blind to their sin, and the pain they are causing you, so you suffer in silence?

How about the pain of betrayal, treachery, where someone close to you totally destroyed you…?
betrayal

Is it the fire of unjust authority either in prison, on a job, in a home, from the government, or in a church? Rules and regulations that cause you excruciating heartache, threatening to strangle the very life of God from you, day by day, week by week, and year by year!

How about an unsaved loved one, that continues to go astray, continually making poor choices in life, breaking your heart?

None of these situations have a physical voice, but you and I both know, they SCREAM!

I remember a couple years back renting a storage unit to store tools for our business, and finding that an interesting community of musicians had chosen this same complex, to practice with their bands. I learned about a new type of music I had never heard of before, a heavy metal kind of thrash band, with intense drums, loud electric guitars, and lead singers that specialized in uttering piercing deep throated screams…. As I heard them venting their screams, I thought about this message tonight. Young people so broken and hurt, that no mere words could find the deep place of their pain, so they would thrash, and from the depths of their heart, scream.

Pretty eerie experience, yet it left a mark on me. Sure there were probably demons involved in some of their antics, but I heard by the Holy Spirit something more than demonic babble, I heard human, deep, broken and shattered pain. A cry for help….I’m sure hell will be full of this kind of noise, but these were from people not in hell, and God used them to touch me heart in intercession, knowing Holy Spirit was warring for their souls…

As I have broken before the Lord over the years, and in many cases, wept until I could weep no more, there has always come incredible joy, after each deep sacrificial broken prayer.
Ps 126:5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Ps 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Out of the depths of despair, I have found the heart of mercy of our God, and I come out wielding a prophetic sword, in authority against demons, people and things that would kill and destroy people.

So must you.

What is speaking into your life?

Finances? Sickness? Heartbreak? Unjust authority structures?

You answer is in your lips! YOU must speak to those things and command them to leave your life.

This alone will bring the change you need in your circumstances.

Let’s pray:

“Father, you see the hardness of people, and the brutality I face. Give me the words of wisdom, authority, and courage to speak to these things that are screaming at me. In your name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen.”
