Wealth Transfer Can be a Messy Business…
Pr 13:22 A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.
Zeph 1:12 And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.
13 Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.
14 ¶ The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
Seems to be, I see a transfer of wealth, from the wicked, to God’s children here. I know that as a theologian, this is an allegorical interpretation of these verses, for they were written to a different people, in a different era. Yet, God has not changed!
Interesting thing I see is that in verse 12, there are a people that basically think they are going to do their own thing. I call these folks that know about God, but do not know Him. Probably good generally moral church folks, that get up, go to work, and somehow believe that God is not in anyway involved with their day to day work.
Sunday Christians
Seek ye First is still in the book, and it is good to seek God each morning, not just before church on Sunday. There is a spirit filled life available to us, with miracles evident in every day. Let us not be as:
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
1 Tit 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
God judges them for their unbelief and humanistic ways, and takes their stuff from them, and gives it to them that know and fear Him. Tough spot to be in as a nominal Christian if this is happening to you, but worse yet, is if you truly understand the process, and then have an unsaved or religious family member going through this process. How you would love to tell them what to do, and why this is happening to them, but you know they will not listen to you, so all you can do is pray God open their eyes.
Ec 1:18 For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.
Guess if you didn’t care, it wouldn’t hurt so much, but because we love people, we care, and long to heal, redeem, restore them, like Jesus does, but so many simply refuse to listen…
Yep, this transfer of wealth thing is a messy business sometimes….so is birth, but it produces beautiful children.
Let’s Pray:
“Father, I want to know you, personally, and I want to obey You fully. Show me clearly what I need to do, and give me the grace to do it I pray, in Your name Lord Jesus, Amen’
